Panchakarma the treatment has brought back the zest for life in many patients. Being the birthplace of Ayurveda, Kerala is home to several Ayurvedic Treatment Centers that are run by families that own a legacy of decades in providing authentic Ayurvedic treatment in the place. As per many practitioners hailing from these families, of all Kerala Ayurveda treatments, Panchakarma is the one with the highest demand, especially among tourists. As the name suggests, Panchakarma is a five-step detoxification process that helps in balancing the three Doshas namely, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. The five procedures include:

Vamanam: This process is used to balance the Kaphas by eliminating the excess mucus in our body.

Virechanam: Virechanam is a process where the intestines are freed of toxins by administering therapeutic laxative.

Anuvasan: The treatment is provided to patients to combat conditions like diabetes, urinary and reproductive disorders.
